Privacy Policy
Tasko is a business AI service provided by SelfAware Technologies, operated by Selfaware Horizon Labs in Kenya. This Privacy Policy explains how Tasko collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the service or connect third-party services such as Google Workspace.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Tasko, we may collect:
- Account and profile information such as your name, email address, company, role, and authentication details.
- Organization configuration, departments, permissions, workflow settings, approval settings, and audit activity.
- Documents and knowledge sources that you or your organization choose to upload or connect.
- Integration metadata and authorization information needed to connect services you explicitly authorize.
- Technical and security information such as timestamps, request metadata, error information, and security logs.
2. Google user data
If you connect Google Workspace, Tasko requests only the permissions needed for the Gmail and Google Calendar features you choose to use. Tasko may read Gmail messages, create Gmail drafts or send messages, and read or create events on Google Calendars you own. Tasko does not request Google Drive access in the current Google authorization flow.
Tasko uses Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing Tasko features that you authorize. Google user data is not sold, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with third parties except as necessary to provide the service, comply with law, protect security, or with your explicit direction.
Tasko's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide Tasko, authenticate users, enforce organization permissions, answer questions using authorized company knowledge, run approved workflows, connect third-party tools, maintain audit records, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and provide customer support.
4. AI processing
Tasko may send information to an AI provider selected or configured for your organization when that is required to perform an authorized AI feature. The information sent depends on the task and your organization's configuration. Tasko is designed to keep organization data separated and permission-aware.
5. Storage and security
Tasko uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect customer information. Integration credentials and refresh tokens are stored server-side using secure secret storage and are not exposed to the browser as ordinary application data. Access to organization data is subject to authentication, tenant isolation, roles, and permissions.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security and audit obligations, resolve disputes, or comply with law. You can disconnect an integration to stop future access. You may also request deletion of your Tasko account or organization data by contacting us at the address below, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.
7. Third-party services
Tasko may integrate with services such as Google Workspace, Slack, AI providers, billing providers, and infrastructure providers. Those services may process information under their own privacy terms when you choose to use them.
8. Your choices
You control which integrations you connect, which permissions you grant, which company documents you add, and which Tasko actions require approval. You can revoke Google access from your Google Account permissions page or disconnect Google from Tasko.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Tasko changes. The effective date at the top will be updated when material changes are made.
